My name is Shannon Snyder and I am an on location, natural light photographer serving the Hermiston, Oregon and the Tri-Cities, Washington area.  I strive to capture everyday moments in all the photos I take.   

Being an on-location photographer simply means I come to your home, or meet you at your favorite location.  And because I love the look God’s light gives a portrait, I try to find the perfect light.  This might mean choosing a specific time of day or location where the light is best or rearranging your furniture a bit to find the optimum light. 

My style is fun and casual.  I try to capture both your children and the family as a whole in their most natural state.  Don’t be surprised if I just follow your child around while they play.  Or roll around on the ground acting silly to get your children engaged.  Yes, goofiness is a tactic that I use to get sincere expressions.  You will NEVER hear “Say Cheese” from me!  This will only capture the most forced smile…and I am pretty sure kids hate hearing it.  You may, however, hear me say “Boogers!!”  That one works well on little boys and dads.  I try to make the photo session as little stress as possible.  I can be very patient to wait for a child to warm up to me, have a snack, or just take a needed break.

I will, if you wish, do a few posed shots because I know some of my clients like this look as well. If you have a specific request for props please let me know ahead of time.  With newborns or babies I may use a simple backdrop, however, with older children or families I prefer to use more natural surroundings.  If you feel my style meshes with yours give me a call for an appointment.  After the booking I will send you a detailed packet on how the session will go as well as clothing choices. 

After the session:  In January 08 I will begin to offer in person ordering sessions at my main street mini-office! (you have to see it to know what MINI is all about.)  Because choosing your portraits can be a difficult decision I will sit down with you to review your  session proofs.   You will get to review your proofs both through a custom slide show.  This is a good time for me to answer all your questions about enlargements, storyboards and other products.  And don't worry, your on-line gallery will be available a couple of days before your proofing session so you can come prepared!
